Original Oil Paintings by Gail Guirreri-Maslyk

Gail Guirreri-Maslyk paints on 8oz cotton duck applied with acrylic gesso on 7/8" or 1.5" kiln dried beveled stretcher bars with staple-free edges. This allows for restretching. Paint and medium are Gamblin brand. Varnish may be applied after 6 months to enhance colors. Since most paintings leave the studio before a 6 month time period it is rare for a painting to already have a varnish. Should your painting seem dull in color over time do not hesitate to seek your professional framer's opinion to have the painting varnished. Colors do enahnce dramatically with a varnish. Giclee

Giclee in today's digital world is a digital reproduction of a painting on stretched canvas. These look very similar to an orginal painting and have 'boing' when canvas is touched. They are framed the same as an original painting and most of the time you can not tell the difference between a giclee and original. Though a giclee has lifetime color guarantee, they do not have the surface durability of an original oil painting. They are prone to scratching so please be extremely careful not to allow them to be touched during transport, etc.

If you are particulary fond of an original painting that has been sold, do no hesitate to ask if a duplicate can be painted. No two paintings are identical but compostion and color can be just as rewarding.

Gallery Archive Prints

A gallery archive print is a digital lifetime color guarantee print on matte archive paper. They have much value for the dollar and can easily be adpated to most any size with no maximum length. These should be dry mounted and framed behind glass by your professional framer. These prints are extremely sturdy to the touch; they do not scratch easily. One would have to make a good attempt to scratch a gallery print. Prints come with a white border. Should you wish to have signed print, please allow for extra shipping time.

Lifeshade Lampshades ™

Any of the paintings on this site may be adapted to Lifeshade Lampshades. As this site is developed further images will be added to paintings already in press. Lampshades like gallery prints are very sturdy and do not damage easily.
